  • Econyl® fiber

Econyl® is an innovative new generation fiber.

It is composed of 22% Xtra-life elastane and 78% recycled polyamide. It is a fabric fiber regenerated from fishing nets and other industrial waste recovered from the oceans and other landfills. These are crushed, melted, transformed into a new fiber.

The energy needed to create the fiber and dye the fabric is produced internally, 100% from renewable energy. At the same time, 99% of the waste produced is recycled and reused. In addition, water is used several times: to cool the machines, then to rinse the fabrics after they are made. Finally, it is cleaned and purified before being discharged into the Brembo River.

The manufacture of Econyl® fibre is much less energy-intensive than the production of virgin nylon. It allows a 55% reduction in CO2 emissions.

  • Q-NOVA® fiber

Q-NOVA® is a fabric fibre manufactured by the Italian company Fulgor, from regenerated raw materials (use of nylon scraps from production) and at least 50% recycled materials (plastic bottles).

  • Recycled polyamide

Recycled polyamide is an alternative to the use of virgin nylon, which has harmful consequences for the environment (water consumption, CO2 emissions, micro-plastic particles in the oceans, etc.). Recycled polyamide saves resources and reduces pollution and waste generated with the production of virgin nylon. The GuppyFriend is essential for washing your recycled lingerie, to avoid any release of plastic particles.

  • Organic cotton

We only use organic cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard - GOTS - for the bottom of our panties. From the seed of the seed to the harvest of the flower, organic cotton is grown without pesticides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers, and without GMOs.

Of all the natural fibers, organic cotton is the most suitable because it is:

  1. Ultra comfortable
  2. Durable and easy to maintain (long life)
  3. Naturally hypoallergenic

  • TENCEL

Tencel is an ultra-soft fabric fiber, which is also very often called vegetable silk. It is made from natural resources such as eucalyptus or bamboo wood, coming from eco-certified forests, then transformed into wood pulp, then into textile fiber thanks to an industrial process that uses a non-toxic solvent.

The fabric of this bodysuit is breathable, thermoregulating and anti-bacterial.

Here are our selection criteria for choosing our sewing workshops:

  • done by the right people and in good conditions: permanent employment, salary bases equivalent to the minimum wage in France, in order to ensure that employees can cover all their expenses.
  • workshops on a human scale, which prioritize quality over quantity.
  • know-how in lingerie and swimwear of course.
  • located in nearby Europe, Mediterranean basin at the most.

On our e-shop, you will find sewn pieces:

  • in France in a workshop specializing in lingerie and swimwear.
  • in Poland in a workshop specializing in lingerie.
  • in Morocco, in a workshop specializing in lingerie and swimwear.
  • in Tunisia, on the North coast, in a workshop specializing in bathing.
  • in Portugal, in a specialized bodywear workshop.

Here are the key stages in the manufacturing of Maline products:

  1. Production of prototypes in collaboration with our partner workshop.
  2. A first version of the product is proposed.
  3. Usually, modifications and improvements are made, and a second version is presented. If everything is ok and the prototype perfectly meets our expectations, we start manufacturing.
  4. Once finished, we will collect the products directly from the workshop.
  5. We pack them delicately and off they go to your mailbox. :)

Production related

Since the beginning our products have been made from recycled materials and 100% European supplies:

  • Econyl® fabrics made in Italy
  • Q-NOVA® fabrics made in France
  • Certified organic cotton fabrics made in France
  • Elastic under basque (black, red and white) made in Spain
  • Elastic under basque (nude) made in France
  • Fasteners and adjusters made in France

Transport related

We do not find it acceptable that a product travels thousands of kilometers before arriving at our place, then in your mailbox. Our products do not take the plane! Delivery is done by road transport (with vehicles that consume fuel of course, but the loading is optimized, which allows to increase the number of packages transported and to share CO2 emissions between all).

Related to consumption

Our aim is to give products a unique value. In a world where overproduction and overconsumption are a reality, the Fast Fashion industry delivers textile products manufactured on the other side of the world, at a lower cost... Perceived as "disposable" due to their low price, poor quality and very rapid renewal of collections, this is a real socio-environmental problem. And yes, millions of tons of clothing are thrown away every year, in Europe alone...

So what do we do? We make quality parts that are built to last and are kept!

  1. As soon as you return from the beach or the pool, wash your swimsuit in soapy water. This will remove sea salt, sand or chlorinated water.
  2. Rinse it with clean water.
  3. Let it air dry (no tumble dryer, it considerably reduces the lifespan of the jersey - and your clothes at the same time - and uses a lot of energy!
  4. If you want to keep your swimsuit long-lasting, wash it by hand as often as possible. In the machine, no more than 30°C in a washing net or Guppyfriend bag .
  • Ideally, wash your lingerie by hand.
  • Otherwise, slip it into awashing bag , or a GuppyFriend bag (it reduces friction and protects your lingerie. A significant bonus of the Guppyfriend is that it reduces the leakage of microfibers released into the environment by wastewater.)
  • No more than 30°C in the machine, delicate program.
  • Bye bye the dryer : it considerably reduces the lifespan of your lingerie (and your clothes at the same time) and consumes a lot of energy. The clothes horse will be your best ally. Let it dry in the shade.

What about my menstrual panties?

  • Ideally, wash your menstrual panties by hand.
  • Rinse it with cold water until all the blood has drained.
  • Slip it into alaundry bag , or a GuppyFriend bag (it reduces friction and protects your lingerie. A significant bonus of the Guppyfriend is that it reduces the leakage of microfibers released into the environment by wastewater.)
  • No more than 30°C in the machine, delicate program and bye bye the dryer, leave to dry in the shade.
